BREAKING: Nigel Farage has announced his resignation as the MP for Clacton, triggering a by-election which he says he will stand in. This follows the latest round of allegations that he accepted a large bung. This time from the convicted fraudster George Cottrell, who literally has a chapter in his book outlining how to bribe politicians into doing what you want by making it seem like the money you send is just enthusiastic and generous gifts. That'll look great on a billboard.

  • Farage is outlining this as the people versus the establishment. When he's been part of the political establishment for about three decades. It seems he was likely advised in advance that he was facing suspension long enough to trigger a recall petition, as the Standards Committee has been investigating his previous £5 million bung from a crypto billionaire that he didn't declare. This is the same move BoJo the Clown pulled before the Standards Committee published their findings against him.

@ShredderLivesOn@mastodon.scot The US Supreme Court would call it a legal gratuity.
