@TimKStanton@mstdn.social I can see the faint trail, and the cairn to the right, though it's always easy to lose it. I ran into this kind of terrain in Blodgett Canyon and it's far more difficult to cross that a person would expect. Each rock may, or may not, be steady. The angle is continually changing. One stumble means disaster.

@CA_Hawthorne@writing.exchange Yeah, this was a one-boulder-at-a-time hike. It was so far up the mountainside, I especially didn’t want to make a wrong move and risk injury. Lost the trail a few times, especially when the cairns were far apart.
