  #WorldOfOntyre 02 I write otherworld historical fantasy, but it helps to touch real history. This was the train station for the Milwaukee Line. It’s still there, and looks no different. A city trail now follows the empty tracks to the right, trees between it and the river. The buildings in the distance on the right are now a park. In the distance on the left is Blue Mtn.   #WritersCoffeeClub 03 are narrators a diegetic part of the world/story I write in Deep 3rd, so each narrator is a POV character character in that particular chapter (if there are multiple POVs). Other characters can see their actions and hear their dialogue, but cannot hear their thoughts. Other characters can also see what they see, but not necessarily as they see it. #AmWriting #WritingCommunity

  #ScribesAndMakers 03 communication and comfort Writing, but not entirely for the reasons you might expect. It’s always been my natural means of communication. I think most clearly when writing. If I want to sort my thoughts—I write. Good gosh, I was the freak in college who preferred essay tests. That isn’t to say I detest verbal communication. I’m an introvert, but also an INFJ.   #PhantastikPrompts 03 is dead forever On Ontyre, dead is dead. It’s one of the Laws of Magic: “Magic cannot create life, only alter it.” I knew that if I didn’t do that it’d get out of hand. Some characters would be god-like. Why would anyone ever die? The clincher was that it’d cheapen death. I DO have ghosts. Not everyone becomes one (most don’t), and there are varying types of hauntings that greatly restrict ghost activity. Witches are best able to see them. #AmWriting #WritingCommunity

  #Today 03 Good day! Smoke. It arrived during the night. The Index was 56 when I went to bed, and 189 when I woke up. It’s coming from Oregon and Washington, mostly. A troll was a hideous creature in folk tales, one having had a run-in with billy goats. Later, they became characters in Tolkien tales. Now, they’re offensive people online.   #PhantastikPrompts 04 character based on a real person I haven’t done this, and won’t do this. It isn’t because I worry about offending someone, but because I want my characters to be unique. If I based a character on someone else, even their appearance, they’d become that person. Instead, they’re “real.” They’re composites, combinations of many people, my imagination, and a piece of myself. Significantly changing a character, to me, makes them someone else. So, RIP Ergain? Nope.   #PhantastikPrompts 04 what inspires me to write Everything? I don’t require motivation to write or edit. If, instead, this is asking what helps jump-start my sessions, that would probably be music. If I sit down to edit a chapter, I often recall the music I was listening to when I drafted it. That makes it easier for me, if needed, to return to the emotional place I was in when I drafted it. I also write in the same location, so familiarity also helps. #AmWriting #WritingCommunity

  #PhantastikPrompts 03 author words or phrases that annoy me There really isn’t anything that comes to mind. Maybe excessive swearing. I read a book once where the author so delighted in swearing, as did all the characters, that the book almost lacked adjectives/verbs. It was unique at first, then slightly humorous, but then annoying as shocking became boring. It was no different than if I used the same handful of adjectives.
