I am not very fit, and I would like to get more fit. I’m planning to run a 10k next April, and I’m looking for recommended programs to follow. I’ve tried using Runna, but the reality is that I sometimes miss a run or two and the app doesn’t seem to account for that. Neither does it adjust based on how easy or difficult I found a run to be. So the guided runs are frequently way off the mark for an appropriate difficulty. #running

@tonymottaz@social.lol Everyone's path is a bit different, so expect to try a few things before you find what works best for you. If you aren't very fit, I'd recommend starting off walking a 10K, to see how you feel after that. If you feel fine after that, add in some running; 1 minute slow run, 2 (or more) minutes walk for the duration. Then increase the running time - while keeping the walk time until you feel they're not necessary. Then, ta-da, you've run a 10K. Let #Running know your progress!

@tonymottaz@social.lol Couch to 5k is how I got started one spring. By the end of summer I’d run in a 5k.
