The hike last Friday had a long stretch of fun scrambling up steep rock slabs. It was accented by beautiful waterfalls that I climbed along. The upper right pic shows the base of one of the climbs and the lower right pic is a view looking down near the top of another climb. The section was 4,600 ft (1,400m) long with a vertical gain of 1,500 ft (450m) and an average grade of 33%. Fun!! #MountainMonday #hiking #nature #mountains #photography #landscape #LandscapePhotography #NaturePhotography

Can you see the trail here? After climbing up steep slabs of rock during the ascent on last week’s hike in the White Mountains, NH, I was greeted with an expansive field of boulders through which I traversed —- over two miles (3+ km) of boulders like this. Made for slow going. This mountain (Mt Washington) is nicknamed “the rock pile” for good reason! #FootpathFriday #hiking #mountains #nature #landscape #photography #NaturePhotography #LandscapePhotography
