Here is a pic from my hike up to the ridge last month in the Presidential Range, White Mountains, NH. Above the tree line, there were significant fields of boulders and the "trail" was marked by cairns like this. I'm planning another trip to the ridge for sometime next month, but approaching from the other side of the ridge (east side). And, yes, more boulders!! #FootpathFriday #hiking #mountains

Here is the view looking back toward the ridge and summit I had hiked up to last month in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains, NH. At this point, I was traversing along a contour of the cone of the highest summit before I looped back down to the trailhead.
