A comparative travel quote I found this morning:
"Seriously, in America, if you travel for ten hours in a car, you might still be in the same state. If you travel by car for ten hours in Europe, everyone's talking funny and the cheese is different."

@mmiasma@mastodon.sdf.org Kinda similar, an old guy in a museum in Wisconsin once told me ‘the difference between you [Brits] and us is that we think a hundred years is a long time whereas you think a hundred miles is a long way’. I always liked that.
