Can’t go to a gig without getting a new t-shirt. This is an original design by Kankawa Nagarra the artist I saw on Wednesday night. It’s a journey from the tea-chest which she made into a guitar when she was young to her blues music today. She describes herself as ‘born in sand and washed in fire’. #Blues #Australia #KankawaNagarra

Good news!!! We have four swallows on the wire this morning. Our mating pair, last year’s young who has been helping all summer and one little fledging who made it through the dry weather!! The first two fledgings vanished in the drought and this survivor was the strongest of three in the next clutch. It’s a fragile achievement but bloody hell does it make me happy! #ClimateDiary #Swallows #BirdCallOut

Nearly finished work for the week - have a couple of admin tasks which I can complete here and then I am done. BUT on arriving home I realised the rattle I heard when I got out the van was not a random bit of rubbish on the tarmac but the lid of my *new* water bottle. So, now, I have to go back. 😭 #ADHD #weekend

Completely forgot #MakersHour last night and had meant to share that I blocked my mini knitting (the silk one is now cast off but not blocked yet). The blue Lacey one is a shawl pattern but it has come out a bit big - the two tone garter is the size of a one twelfth scale double bedspread. Sewing scissors for scale. #knitting #DollsHouse #No52

4/3 (oops) The cause of this drought is a high pressure system sitting mid-Atlantic which is being caught between southern weather patterns pushing north and northern ice melt/higher temperatures pushing northern weather fronts south. This high is storing heat out at sea and evaporating sea water which currently has nowhere to go. While we are all needing rain, the likely outcome of a summer weather pattern like this is storms- and storms which have been powered by a continuous high pressure ‘b...

Having had quite enough adulting for one day - I was listening to Johnny Cash in the car and ‘The Chicken in Black’ came on and I wondered just how many popular songs there are with a chicken in them? Hit me up with all your suggestions!! #music #chickens #ChatHuman

#ThreeGoodThings A friend came round for lunch and we ate homegrown salad in the garden & chatted. I planted out the beetroot and did some general gardening. We had gin & tonic after OH got home from work. A good day. Night all. #3GoodThings

I’m very slowly making an art deco inspired sideboard. There’s a lot still to be done, nothing you see here is glued in yet - but here’s a dry fit of the main parts. #DollsHouse #No52 #Makers #Craft #Miniatures

A good day. 1, I tidied the polytunnel. 2, Hosting dinner with visiting family was lots of fun. (I made goose egg quiche, and a victoria sponge). 3 I came second at Trivial Pursuit (since I am usually last this feels like a triumph). #ThreeGoodThings #3GoodThings

Tragic news: our local landfill site is on fire. The blaze is horrendous and the smoke towering over the tiny village of Ladybank. Locals are to keep windows and doors shut. The A92 is closed in both directions so our normally sleepy little road is very busy. I’m feeling pretty crap about it. We can’t go on using plastics and chucking them in the ground and hoping it never comes back to bite us. #ClimateChange #ClimateDiary #PlasticCrisis https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1e209vye0lo

Thanks for a lovely #MakersHour. The Fimo plant pots are out if the oven. I can bake the earth into the empty one tomorrow- the paper flowers work quite well - they came off a wedding favour. #DollsHouse #Miniatures
