As over half the NHS Trusts that had originally 'encouraged' by NHS England to use Palantir's software have actually stopped doing so, the Statistics Regulator is renewing its investigation into the claims for success put about by NHSE. NHS Trusts have found the claims often to be unsubstantiated & as such the regulator now wants to know how & why NHSE made such claims in the first place. The answer is likely to be summed up by the phrase;' follow the money'! #Palantir #NHS h/t FT

  • @ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk This is true anywhere, mostly about criminal intents around public services. I often wonder how we can effectively promote a culture of legality, especially among public servants. Yes, I see sometimes advertised initiatives on legality, but frankly speaking they're just smoke and mirrors. Why do we tolerate to be mocked like that?

@ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk Such an interesting question: “NHS Trusts have found the claims [made re the benefits of Palantir’s software] often to be unsubstantiated & as such the regulator now wants to know how & why NHSE made such claims in the first place.” Is it some kind of systemic failure or more prosaic bribery &/or corruption? What are the remedies or penalties? Did someone/s benefit in some way or was there a collective fantasy? Did a spreadsheet go rogue or were numbers missing or not known or not included in cost-benefit calculations? Could lead to potential for beneficial learning & preventive future actions. You can learn a lot from system failures. 🤔 #UKPol #NHS #failure #reconnectingConsequencesToCauses
