Yeah, I hear you there. Twitter when it was good was probably the best social media ever got. Mind you Masto and the Fediverse are pretty nice too. They have their limitations (they'll never be as big as the more centralised options, reach on smaller servers is an issue, as examples), but it's definitely the best usable option these days.

@sar@social.elderlogs.net Very true. Twitter was just ok for me. I used it for work as well when I worked for Nova, but was never a huge fan like I was with Google+. Mastodon is good, but so limited in a lot of ways. It'll definitely never be mainstream, which sucks in a lot of ways.
