@sar@social.elderlogs.net Very true. Twitter was just ok for me. I used it for work as well when I worked for Nova, but was never a huge fan like I was with Google+.
Mastodon is good, but so limited in a lot of ways. It'll definitely never be mainstream, which sucks in a lot of ways.

@cliffwade@infosec.exchange And those limitations will keep holding it back from wider adoption. That and getting newbies past the whole having to pick an instance hurdle. They have to do that with email providers, so I don't see how it's any different, but eh. I think ActivityPub would maybe need a fundamental rework to get past the main issues, but I don't see that happening.
