@cliffwade@infosec.exchange Discourse IS forum software, I don't think it tries to hide away from that. Unless the ones you've used have had some convoluted implementation or terrible theme? The one I use most is the one hosted by my distro devs, for EndeavourOS. They're pretty straightforward, which for me at my age is probably a good thing 😂 But I'm glad that forums still persist into this day and age. Blogs are starting to make a comeback these past few years, so hopefully we can get away from Discord and back to forum discussions.

    @sar@social.elderlogs.net The Discourse servers I've been in are a combination of both forums and channels just like Discord. The community I was most recently in was originally on Discord. Then when the age verification stuff happened, they decided to move and switched to Discourse. Though they have been testing other things. Some of the community liked the channel stuff, but most liked the forum stuff, so they decided to stick with the forum stuff mostly, which I wanted no part of.
