@sar@social.elderlogs.net The Discourse servers I've been in are a combination of both forums and channels just like Discord. The community I was most recently in was originally on Discord. Then when the age verification stuff happened, they decided to move and switched to Discourse. Though they have been testing other things.
Some of the community liked the channel stuff, but most liked the forum stuff, so they decided to stick with the forum stuff mostly, which I wanted no part of.

@cliffwade@infosec.exchange Sounds like a weird mishmash of two different things that should never have been together. No wonder you hated it. I hate Discord tbh, and I wish I didn't have to use it.
