Read Aminatta Forna’s Happiness as my book of people meeting across national boundaries. It is a lovely mix of urban ecology, theory of trauma, and people helping each other. Which will give you entirely the wrong idea. There are foxes! #bookstodon

Read Bernardine Evaristo’s Lara as my novel in verse. She has a poetic streak when writing prose, too, but this was lovely! A deep dive in the times and places that make up a family of disparate cultures, violation, prejudice and love. And sometimes just being a person alive in the world. #bookstodon
