Read Bernardine Evaristo’s Lara as my novel in verse. She has a poetic streak when writing prose, too, but this was lovely! A deep dive in the times and places that make up a family of disparate cultures, violation, prejudice and love. And sometimes just being a person alive in the world. #bookstodon

And as my audio book featuring melodic storytelling I listened to Tanya Tagaq’s Split Tooth. I am new to audio books, so find it hard to judge. Interesting, at least.
