@kaosk@mastodon.social Aww really they're not doing that anymore? Last time I was there was maybe 2010 or so and before that we'd have gone almost every year back to 1995. We typically stayed at all-inclusives with strong preference for the state-run hotels. Playa Pesquero was always a favourite. Always had a free bottle of Havana Club or, less frequently, Cubita rum on the table, a cold 1L bottle of water in the fridge and towel art on the bed when you got to the room. And what's with customs? Sealed bags? Whaa? Is this just them picking on Cuba? I returned from Japan with a bunch of sake a year and a half ago, and my daughter did the same when she went just this year.

@zazzoo@mstdn.ca The bags was the same as I've experienced in the EU. There, the bags aren't sealed, the controls are similar. I think the sealed bags is the Cuban government way to ensure that it's making its cut of the sales
