@Black_Flag@beige.party it’s almost funny, and *definitely* telling, when the TERFs/transphobes/etc. ask a trans person “what’s your biological name” as if that’s an innate characteristic (and as if the answer would be anything other than “homo sapiens” or whatever)

@Black_Flag@beige.party ah, I've been fighting this battle since the dawn of the internet, arguing with people about your "real" mame. As if calling me Bob or Joe would make any difference. But that's the very same argument used by those pushing for a "deanonymization" of the Internet.

@Black_Flag@beige.party 100% I've been trying to get people to say "government name" instead of "real name" I note most languages I've studied have two registers for introducing yourself: "my [government] name is" for cops and other officials and "people call me" for normal people/everyone else/for talking about the name you want to be known as (i.e. your real "real name") I'd like people to adopt this in English.
