@eteryu@infosec.exchange yea, disable it as much as you can! I'm not sure why GrapheneOS by default enable this for all apps? @GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social

@beistanbul@mastodon.social @eteryu@infosec.exchange Android 17 disallowed apps without the Nearby Devices permission group from accessing the local network. For backwards compatibility, apps not yet targeting Android 17 are allowed to access the local network by default. No additional access is granted to apps compared to before. Targeting Android 17 eliminates the compatibility mode. Apps on the Play Store will be required to target Android 17 in around a year. This is how Android does backwards incompatible improvements.
