Ok, so here's something that's been bothering me for a while. I *despise* the word "content" the way it's now used. The phrase "content creator" and the bundling of so many things under that term. What is "content" in English? It's the description of something that fills a container. Is that the best we can do? Would people truly describe whatever it is they do as mere "filler"? If so, no wonder all this AI slop is being foisted onto us. The LLMs can produce filler at scale.

They don't produce emotion, real opinion, or even originality, just stuff. And we're being told that the pace of humanity in producing "stuff", "content", is the limiting factor and something to be overcome. That everyone's goal is "produce more, faster". You might produce visual art, or music. You could be a writer on all manner of topics. You might get on camera to tell jokes, or give opinion. Whatever you do, *please* respect yourself enough to call it what it is. It's *not* mere "content".

@airadam@mastodon.me.uk Do not be content with ‘content’ - agreed.

@airadam@mastodon.me.uk Preach! I feel mostly the same way about "product" as I do about "content". It is the supply-side fulfillment of a perceived market demand, utterly soulless.
