Here on the east coast - and I mean within a few klicks - the onshore wind keeps us a bit too mild for most of winter. I do miss those icy days when I was a kid in the Blue Mountains. Cold is invigorating.

@Sheep_Overboard@infosec.exchange I grew up further inland than where I now live, too, and it wasn't uncommon to reach freezing or even subzero temps in the winter. I don't remember being as cold as I am these days but perhaps as a kid I ignored it because there were more important things to do?!
