Uncle has an electric wheelchair which was deemed medically necessary and paid for by his insurance company.
He is much less mobile now than when it was approved.
It's broken.
The insurance company won't authorize a repair until Uncle's doctor writes a "prescription" for the repair and sends it to the company that services the chair.
I've been asking the doctor's office for weeks to send the prescription and they've been ignoring me.
This is some serious bullshit.

"We have to require prescriptions for durable medical equipment repair, because otherwise, once in a blue moon someone may commit 'fraud' by asking us to pay for repairing equipment that is no longer medically necessary. Because that's definitely a thing that happens in such large numbers that we have to prevent it by making things harder for the vast majority of people who are just fucking trying to stay alive."
