@fdroidorg@floss.social leverage against Google goes out the door when everyone openly support what Apple does under the same disguise. This is a fight that was lost when everyone jumped head first when walled garden for phones was accepted as the best solution for the industry now almost 20 years ago. Kind of saying it is bad because Google also wants to do it now while allowing Apple to do the same is basically hypocrisy even though Google are hypocrites themselves for marketing it as as advantage before.

@htpcnz@mastodon.social People were saying it was bad when Apple did it. That's part of why more tech focused people flocked to Android. And so long as Android allowed us to do as we pleased, we could oppose walled gardens in part by not participating in any. But the phone market has collapsed into 2 OSes, and both of them are going to be walled gardens, so there's nowhere to retreat back to now. All options are gone, so the only avenue forward is to make aa lot of noise. @fdroidorg@floss.social

@htpcnz@mastodon.social @fdroidorg@floss.social the end is when there's no one fighting back, and I can see a lot of people doing it, move to @GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social the oasis where you still can be free using tha apps you love to use. Maybe there are other oasis, i have to search more
