The reason why the AI bubble hasn't burst yet, however, is not because the companies involved aren't making any money, and are in fact burning up huge amounts of money (not to mention natural resources). The reason is because of what they represent to the ownership class, the neoaristocracy, and that is the potential prospect of near-limitless control of people's lives through digital surveillance. That's the real endgame, and they will pay much more money than you think to get it.
