Just saw that France alone is reporting over 1000 heat deaths. For the sake of everyone, please politicize these. Hold public services, memorials, and at every turn say they would still be alive if not for the lies of fossil fuel companies. If anyone gets interviewed, the first thing out of your mouth should be the words "climate change". "Climate change killed ......" "Exxon Mobil lied and we died" https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/france-deaths-heat-wave-9.7251959 #ClimateChange #ClimateCrisis

@chu@climatejustice.social here in #sweden, 99% of humans eat animals, so it appears that the overwhelming majority would rather have deadly #heatwaves than #vegan hotdogs. sure, blame #politicians for their actions. but a people, who want to eat butchered animals, will obviously elect politicians who allow for #slaughterhouses to exist. it's not like the politicians aren't listening here. https://watchdominion.org

@chu@climatejustice.social Guns should absolutely not be held by the state, but yes, people should fix the environment and make an economy suitable for it

@chu@climatejustice.social that's not gaslighting (the deliberate and prolonged manipulation of someone's environment and feeding them ideas/narratives counter to reality to make that person doubt their own grasp of reality, and to encourage them to believe only you, the abuser, and nobody else - not even themselves - to make them extremely vulnerable to your manipulation) But yes it is important to call out propaganda and lies from politicians (and generally). Does fit fossil fuel companies etc better. Politicians have swallowed *their* lies.

@chu@climatejustice.social "politicians gaslight you" ... 'Making it political is somehow "disrespectful" to the innocent children shot' Just saying: that specific, toxic, psychological tactic has a name: "blaming the victim"

@chu@climatejustice.social using gas to light the misinformation is part of the problem! Jokes aside, politicians need to be held accountable for their (in)actions and those making obscene amounts of money sticking to fossil fuels and pumping out pollution need to be contained (but they have very good PR people and can afford influence).

@chu@climatejustice.social @theory@xoxo.zone I was confused about this at first because there was a mass shooting this morning in Germany

@chu@climatejustice.social Yeah, we gave them the benefit of the doubt and didn't advocate immediately after a shooting...and they just did it anyway, sometimes within minutes of news breaking. My guess if your respective conservative/far-right party will do the same.

@chu@climatejustice.social sadly a prophetical post given the shooting in Stade, Germany.

@chu@climatejustice.social If I die in a heat wave someday y’all have full permission to politicize the hell out of my death.

@chu@climatejustice.social 1) Germany is a country, it's not the whole of Europe. 2) The only country that seems to tolerate mass shootings is the US. Can't speak for Germany, but anytime this happens in Canada, gun regulations tighten to make it more difficult for the next one. Our problem is the @#%$@#%@#%$@ lax gun laws in the US and those guns making it across the border. :( "Germany has very strict gun laws, among the strictest in Europe." https://www.dw.com/en/germany-at-least-6-killed-in-shooting-in-stade/a-77754951
