I also asked the insurance company on the phone today to authorize the shipment of two extra sensors to Uncle. This is necessary because they have currently only authorized enough sensors to exactly cover the time between shipments, which means if one of them fails, he will once again be without a sensor, which, again, he needs to successfully control his glucose.

They told me to get extra sensors the doctor would have to send a prescription for extra sensors to the supply company, and then the supply company would have to ask the insurance company (well, actually, another company they've contracted this out to) to authorized the extra sensors, which they may or may not do. This is absurd. _Everyone_ using these glucose sensors needs to have extras on hand. Issuing extra sensors should be standard. 7/?
