Before I get into the weeds, bottom line up front: new glucose sensors were finally shipped to Uncle YESTERDAY, two months after the order was supposed to be shipped. Of course the supply company blames the insurance company for dragging their feet authorizing the shipment, and the insurance company blames the supply company for following the wrong procedures to get the order authorized. Uncle is caught in the middle and we have no way of knowing whose fault it really was. 3/?

But a system's purpose is what it does, right? This system delayed Uncle's glucose sensors by two months, endangering his health and _literally_ shortening his life (because that's what poor glucose control does for a diabetic!), so it is reasonable for us to conclude that the purpose of this system is to endanger disabled people's health and shorten their lives. 4/?
