It's Koreans trying to say "look, our cuisine is as refined and rarefied as that of Japan" while it has completely different qualities. The only recipe in the book that actually appeals to me (rice porridge with chestnut) is delightfully simple, but not *refined* simple, though the picture tries to make it so.

@irina@wandering.shop eek! That sounds pretentious indeed. And it doesn't feel like it's playing to the cuisine's strengths. Rice porridge is comfort food! (Not for me, though, the texture isn't my thing) @halla@kde.social
