1. Taking advantage, pushing, mangling, understanding, systems - is a talent.
2. Doing it makes me feel better than the system, or better than those others falling into that system.
3. Feeling that way is fun, so
4. I am happy.
Did your friend ever really get to 4. though? Or was it a nett sadness?

@Heterokromia@aus.social hmm, valid point. I'm not sure. He was also an alcoholic, which didn't help, and maybe obscured true feelings.
