@ebel@moytura.org perpendicular question: how do we get the ️🐱 emoji? I ask because in France/français you can't say the word for female cat because it's mostly (and now only) used to refer to the vulva/vagina, but I don't know any other language where that works. Edit: BTW, congrats for jumping all the hoops! I know how hard it can be for simple stuff, I can't eve begin to imagine to do so for something so changing.

    @mdione@en.osm.town huh? Yes in English “pussy” is originally a cute word for a cat. But it's mostly used for “vagina” now, or “coward”/“weakling”/“effeminate man”. “pussy-cat” might be used. “pussy” isn't gendered, can be a male or female cat AIUI. Now-a-days “kitty” is commonly used as a cute word for a cat. The German slang for a vagina „Muschi” is also derived from “pussy-cat” The proper word for a female dog is “bitch”, which is also an insult that you can't say in polite company.
