@ArrowbearMoore@toad.social also. yeah. battery is probably cooked. it's a pain to replace the original but once you finally get the thing out and swap it for another then replacing a battery is a lot easier since they don't use the apple gorilla glue.

@macer@his.macer.life New battery, & dumped the E os for Ubuntu Budgie, which so far is working pretty well. WiFi worked right off, but not configured to ethernet yet. Did a batt swap on a ’13 retina probook, microwaved beanbag to heat the glue so I could pry it out.
