@macer@his.macer.life New battery, & dumped the E os for Ubuntu Budgie, which so far is working pretty well. WiFi worked right off, but not configured to ethernet yet.
Did a batt swap on a ’13 retina probook, microwaved beanbag to heat the glue so I could pry it out.

@ArrowbearMoore@toad.social in mine i just yanked the wifi module out and replaced it with an intel so it works mainline out the box. not sure what the 2012 used but it is probably a bcm?
