@jaredwhite@indieweb.social omg, I was sending a photo to someone, taken on an iphone - you know the device so good you can film production stuff on...
I zoomed in and was astounded at the ai-sloppification apple applied to it.
This wasn't passed through any filter or anything, right from my camera roll, cropped of course.
I rarely look back at my iphone pictures but it makes me so mad now knowing they have stuff like this.

You can get around some of that by using an app like Halide with Process Zero so you can get RAW files with minimal "computational photography" (though of course then you'll see the range of good images you can achieve optically is far smaller…but generally it's an improvement)
