That also means they haven't actually created a zero-knowledge proof system, merely changed which big tech company gets the knowledge.
If they wanted zero-knowledge, the attestation would come via NFC from a government-issued ID card, not the phone itself, and the app would happily run on any device, including one you cobbled together from parts smuggled over the border by a Khajiit.
Folks in Europe might want to scream at their MEPs about this, 'cause this is super-fishy.

Which will even at the first stage keep out people others than those they ostensibly want to keep out.
