Binding access to the internet to government id instead of some closed big corp mobile device doesn't solve the other issue: government can now gatekeep internet access. Which will even at the first stage keep out people others than those they ostensibly want to keep out.

@argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org @lumi@snug.moe @mullvadnet@mastodon.online They say it's about underage people. But they also exclude undocumented people. What if others are kept out too, in future? Governments denying "first class" fully usable id from trans people for example?
