- uses drm to make sure you only use a google-approved or apple-approved device
it's honestly awful, and them calling it "open source" is misleading. you can't effectively fork it yourself or make your own implementation

@lumi@snug.moe @mullvadnet@mastodon.online That also means they haven't actually created a zero-knowledge proof system, merely changed which big tech company gets the knowledge. If they wanted zero-knowledge, the attestation would come via NFC from a government-issued ID card, not the phone itself, and the app would happily run on any device, including one you cobbled together from parts smuggled over the border by a Khajiit. Folks in Europe might want to scream at their MEPs about this, 'cause this is super-fishy.
