a general comment about the replies to this post.
i think you all assume that anything built on DNS must have all the behaviors of DNS. that's a big assumption and in terms of what i'm thinking of, incorrect.
i don't debate on social media, so that's all i want to say at this time. 😀

@davew@mastodon.social Just a side note: Your thinking here is exactly the reasoning that led to the use of URLs in XML namespaces. It's not a bad idea, whatever might be said about namespaces; for defining uniquely owned identifiers without implementing a new infrastructure, it works great.
