  #photography #filmphotography #TLRTuesday This is from the same roll that I showed a shot from last week. That scene was in full sunlight and seemed to be a perfect match for the Barry Thornton Two-Bath formula. This shrine to St. Jude of the Telephone was in the shade (i.e., flatly lit) at the entrance to an antique mall in Owego, NY. I like the way it finally worked out, but it did take work to recover some separation in the midtones, as was true of other shots on this roll. See alt text.

Often the living room was lit by some glaringly ugly fixture in the center of the ceiling. But with war surplus parachute silk suspended from the corners of the room and a nice Indian scarf placed over the light (both items being cheap and easily available), the environment became much more pleasant. Very trippy.

  [This was supposed to come before the first photos. Oh well.] 1/ Next up in #retrobosak are the pictures I took of the march on People's Park (Berkeley) on May 30, 1969. The march, attended by students from all nine UC campuses, was to protest the death of James Rector two weeks earlier. (See wikipedia for all about this.) On May 29, several of us from UCR drove the nearly 500 miles north to participate.

We knew that we would be marching under the guns (literally) of the same sheriff's deputies who had killed Rector.
