@davew@mastodon.social Just a side note: Your thinking here is exactly the reasoning that led to the use of URLs in XML namespaces. It's not a bad idea, whatever might be said about namespaces; for defining uniquely owned identifiers without implementing a new infrastructure, it works great.

@bosak@flx.masto.host right on. and here we are 30 years later and they still work, and no one has to be the master of deciding who gets to use what name on their namespaces. worked out pretty well! :-)
