@BillySmith@social.coop ah shit ๐ฌ thank you for the heads up... I'm sorry to hear that. What about their business model is worth retaining from your experience with them?
My colleague and I are applying to grants to continue our research but also in the process of setting up a small business (worker co-op!) to manufacture/distribute our kits and parts. It's the first time I've ever had to put on a "business" hat - feels weird. If we get grants then we don't have to do as much business to pay rent ๐

@kirk@social.coop The way that I am looking at it, there are two different sides to the process flow of hardware. The design-side is one aspect. The fabrication is another. Sensorica were good at working on the design-side. They were able to get funding to design the hardware. They did NOT do any of the manufacturing, apart from making prototypes for testing/communications/display. I've been looking at the fabrication-side as a way of paying for the prototyping & manufacturing tools. And once the tools are paid for, then every extra unit made is profit. :D I'm trying to do the same in terms of worker co-op for the fabrication. :D DM me with your schedule and we can gossip. :D
