@BillySmith@social.coop ah shit ๐Ÿ˜ฌ thank you for the heads up... I'm sorry to hear that. What about their business model is worth retaining from your experience with them? My colleague and I are applying to grants to continue our research but also in the process of setting up a small business (worker co-op!) to manufacture/distribute our kits and parts. It's the first time I've ever had to put on a "business" hat - feels weird. If we get grants then we don't have to do as much business to pay rent ๐Ÿ˜…

@kirk@social.coop The way that I am looking at it, there are two different sides to the process flow of hardware. The design-side is one aspect. The fabrication is another. Sensorica were good at working on the design-side. They were able to get funding to design the hardware. They did NOT do any of the manufacturing, apart from making prototypes for testing/communications/display. I've been looking at the fabrication-side as a way of paying for the prototyping & manufacturing tools. And once the tools are paid for, then every extra unit made is profit. :D I'm trying to do the same in terms of worker co-op for the fabrication. :D DM me with your schedule and we can gossip. :D
