@checkervest@laserdisc.party well now I'm going to think about this person a lot too. Did they never stain their hands making beets? get some blueberry juice on their lips? I have enough imagination to go from that experience to at least imagine the possibility of manufacturing dyes with natural things

@kev@social.catastrophic.horse it was so weird, they were convinced that up until 300-400 years ago people just did not dye things. When I gave them some examples they changed it to “only rich people could afford dyes then” and when I responded with a list of cheap natural things people used as dyes they doubled down lmao
