@benjamineskola@hachyderm.io You're not wrong. I still have some faith left in Mozilla developers to moderate the worst decisions of Mozilla management, though. That company has always been a struggle between competent and idealistic employees and the idiots in charge.

@bodil@social.treehouse.systems Yeah, I think I'm similar. I wish they'd spend their time on core browser features rather than what is at best a peripheral addon, but this is just the latest in a series of that sort of thing, and it doesn't actually make the browser itself unusable. (For me, also, the problems with AI can't really be addressed by "opt-in" versus "opt-out" on an individual level, so even if I'd naturally prefer it to be opt-in, it doesn't really make a difference to the fundamental issue.)
