@KatyElphinstone@mas.to @foolishowl@social.coop we're dealing with making sense of everything *waves at world* because we have different filter settings. I noticed when my kid was small that other children seemed to notice their surroundings much less than me and my kid. That squirrel or bird in the tree. The sounds of sirens in the background, the reflections on the lake. The infernal *noise* of kids in groups, all talking at once. I've never been one to put stuff in rows, but I sympathize. The world feels much more messy if you have no filters.

  • @lizzard@social.tchncs.de I have a funny anecdote about having no filter. I was watching a Sherlock movie with physicist friends. At one point, I went "there are Maxwell's equations on the board!". No one saw them, they went frame by frame until they found them and were like, "HOW could you SEE that? You didn't even know they were there!" My partner went very quiet. "If THAT'S how you experience the world ALL THE TIME..." @KatyElphinstone@mas.to @foolishowl@social.coop
