(Inspired by: Feminismus, Elterngeld, Erziehung, Burnout, Ich-zuerst-Mentalität, Klimakatastrophe...

How the hell am I supposed to even argue with this? Coworker about accessibility (in the context of "why don't devs/their bosses book the accessibility training for frontend developers we offer?"): "for me as a front-end developer, accessibility is a niche issue. I have a hundred other problems to deal with. The fact that a small group of 2–4% of the market has trouble using my website is, frankly, none of my concern. Especially when it requires a huge amoun...

https://www.selfonomics.com/p/only-the-obsessed-should-ship "My hottest of hot takes: the only people who should run companies that make things are people who deeply give a fuck about those things. Cheeseburgers or software, it doesn’t matter: if you don’t love it, don’t build it." Trouble is: Maybe people who cared about the product started the business, but in the long run, it's sadly people who love making money that get to run companies. Just look at Apple and Tim...

I've just very nearly avoided a panic attack die to having to stress for a family birthday. I've felt insecure and wrong in my clothes most of my life, and knowing that it will all be commented on is stressing me out to no end. Combined with the general overwhelm... Not good. (I chose jeans and a blazer, because I feel less vulnerable in that than anything decidedly feminine like a skirt or dress. I wish I could feel at home in dresses... But they never fit my figure well enoug...

Hey @autistics ! I have a problem, and wonder if any of you might have similar problems, but maybe, hopefully, also a solution to go with it? After intense days, my body decides that what I need now is not a full night of sleep, but intensely processing my stress at 4am. It takes the form of my mind being wide awake, looking for problems to solve. Could be real to-dos, but if I get those out of my mind, it'll reliably find other things to ruminate about. Has anybody found a way to avo...
