GrapheneOS is a hardened OS with substantial privacy/security improvements: https://grapheneos.org/features CalyxOS and /e/OS are not hardened operating systems. They greatly reduce security vs. AOSP via added attack surface, rolled back security and slow patches. Compatibility with Android apps on GrapheneOS is also much different. @linuxjj@mastodon.social @cassidy@mastodon.blaede.family Can run the vast majority of Play Store apps on GrapheneOS, but not with the problematic microG approach. https://eylenburg.github.io/android_comparison.htm is a third party comparison between different alternate mobile operating systems based on AOSP. It could include many more privacy/security features but it's a good starting point. https://privsec.dev/posts/android/choosing-your-android-based-operating-system/ is an article with more long form comparisons between OSes. As a side note, GrapheneOS is not a 'ROM' and we aren't part of that community.

@GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social @cassidy@mastodon.blaede.family oh, I'm entirely aware that Graphene is itsbown OS as opposed to a modified ROM. I only brought it up since it is still Android and this shows that there are plenty of roads to travel to get somewhere. I've tried Roms before, and the devs of those do a great job at #degoogling android, but, at least that I know of, there's no other hardened android OS out there, which is a shame. It would be great if more Dev groups chose to go that route instead of simply #degoogling.
