We emulate network location with GNSS + A-GNSS by default. Actual network location implementations can also be used on GrapheneOS including Google's implementation. PSDS and SUPL both work fine on GrapheneOS, and we could offer a toggle to use standalone SUPL which can work without GNSS. We host PSDS data and a SUPL proxy.
We plan to provide our own local + service-based implementation of location detection based on cell towers that's better than the existing options.

GrapheneOS is a hardened OS with substantial privacy/security improvements: https://grapheneos.org/features CalyxOS and /e/OS are not hardened operating systems. They greatly reduce security vs. AOSP via added attack surface, rolled back security and slow patches. Compatibility with Android apps on GrapheneOS is also much different.
