@rysiek@mstdn.social also for the threat to apply you'd have to already be in a conversation with an attacker. a friend of ours dug in and verified that Signal does not automatically load previews for messages from people you haven't talked to before.

@ireneista@adhd.irenes.space Please clarify if you can: What's the behavior if someone is in my contact list and also on Signal, but we have never chatted before. Does my Signal then preload the media? What about if they are in my contacts but I blocked them in signal? @Skirmisher@snoot.tube @rysiek@mstdn.social
