  I see lots of people getting interested in NetBSD recently to reduce their reliance on the Linux kernel and parts of its ecosystem they are unhappy with (e.g. systemd, glibc, flatpak, wayland, etc.) I think this is a good idea! However, I would probably avoid trying to completely divest yourself of that world right away. The BSDs (and other less mainstream operating systems) have thousands or millions of times less work put in (for both time and money) and so there will inevitably be gaps, bugs...

  Tempted to start a bootstrapping seed library, to save software versions of everything needed to bootstrap interesting projects like duskos, uxn, tiny languages, etc
