Hi Shan! I have been using my 15-year-old mountain bike (I guess it was more like 10 when I started winter riding), I just switch to studded tires each winter season.
The bike has held up like a champ, but winter is very hard on it. It needs regular tuning up, and I've replaced the cassette at least twice, the chainring at least once, and I replace the chain every 1-2 years.
Still cheaper than a car, but at some point I think I'm going to need a non-winter MTB.

@Daveography@yeg.bike that's what I keep hearing: get a separate set of wheels or tires for winter. Thanks for sharing that! ✌️🚲
