Is there a term for the post in a thread where it hits its diminishing return, where there is still some useful content before it collapses into an echo chamber of repetition or meta references to itself?
I'm talking way before any Godwin ad hominem attacks, just... Nothing Useful Beyond This Point.
I've noticed that I have become sensitized to when it is time to duck out of a thread, and I feel like there must be a name for that point.
Otherwise I'm claiming it as the Content Horizon: beyond here, no useful content can escape or be observed.

@tastapod@mas.to Douglas R. Hofstadter referred to the escape phrase from a futile conversation, "Excuse me, I believe I'll have some more punch." That's a little obscure, even to fans of Gödel, Escher, Bach. Your term. "content horizon" seems apt and direct.
