@johnlago@mastodon.social I don’t always put movies in child folders, but I do ensure the year is always included in folder and/or file name

@caseyliss@mastodon.social This might be the issue. Plex seems to really prefer a dedicated folder for each movie, even if it only contains one file.

@caseyliss@mastodon.social @johnlago@mastodon.social can confirm, the folders thing bit me once after moving away from manual file acquisition to a more automated, popular search and find solution and I used some utility to auto-create folders and move the files into them. I haven’t had any issues like this since.
